Monitoring Michelangelo’s “Pietà Rondanini”
The diagnostic and monitoring activity of the sculpted surfaces of the Pietà was performed during the last conservation intervention. The long term periodic monitoring of the marble has been carried out since then, in order to evaluate any possible chromatic alteration, as well as the influence of the particle deposition according to the different finishing of the substrate.
